COLUMBIA—Sara Scott Marriott, 70, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 9, 2018 after a long illness.She was born on August 10, 1947 to the late Thomas B. Scott, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Wiedemann Scott.She married Robert E. “Bob” Marriott, Sr. in July of 1971 in Columbia where they raised their two children. Sara was a graduate of Eau Claire High School.She also attended the University of South Carolina where she studied nursing.Sara went on to work for the South Carolina State Retirement System followed by Richland County School District One.She devoted many years to Richland One spending time with special needs children.She also spent several years as a sales associate for Educational Wonderland. A loving wife, mother, sister, and Nana, she is predeceased by both parents and her brother, Thomas B. Scott, Jr. Surviving are her husband Bob; daughter, Teri Marriott-Riley (Scot), and son, Robert E. “Bobby” Marriott, Jr. (Meghan). Also surviving are her sister, Charleen Scott Garvin and brother-in-law, David L. Marriott, all of Columbia. She will be especially missed by her grandchildren, Alexander Wilson, Sage Riley Ingerson (Phil), Jordan Riley, Ashlynn Riley, Kyndall Riley, Andrew Marriott, and her great-grandchildren Riley and Graydon Ingerson. Memorial services for Sara will be held Saturday, August 25 at 1:00 p.m. at Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212 with visitation to follow.
