COLUMBIA—Funeral services for Frank “David” Haddon, 65, of Columbia, at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Chapin United Methodist Church, 415 Lexington Avenue, Chapin, SC 29036.Reverend Jody Flowers will be officiating.Burial will be private. The family will greet friends following the service at the church. Temples Halloran Funeral Home is assisting the family. David Haddon, loved husband of Debra Haddon, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. Born in Gainesville, GA he was the son of Frank Johnson Haddon Jr and Helen Fridy Haddon. He grew up in Greenville, SC and was a graduate of Wade Hampton High School class of 1968.He graduated from Wofford College in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. True to his adventurous spirit, David worked on a Windjammer Sailboat as a crew member out of Miami, Florida before returning to Columbia, earning his Master’s Degree in Education from the University of South Carolina. He taught High School Biology for four years, before starting his 35 year career with SCE&G, working in the Environmental Division. This area allowed him to enjoy field work as well as protecting the environment he loved so much. Always the conversationalist, David never met a stranger, and would often engage them in talk of the weather, current events, hunting, fishing and all outdoor activities. Through his life and career, he had and kept in contact with many wonderful and supportive friends. He was member of Chapin United Methodist Church, the Truth Seekers class. His last years were often spent in the mountains with family and friends, roaming the mountain roads, enjoying nature in all its seasons. Surviving in addition to his wife of 29 years, Debra Heath Haddon of Columbia; daughter, Jennifer Claire Haddon of Greenville; brother, John W Haddon of Mt Pleasant; sister, Sally Haddon McCoun (Jim) Suwanee, GA. David was preceded in death by his sister in law, wife of John, Sandra S. Haddon.
