Due to the weather the service has been changed to Saturday, September 22, 2018. COLUMBIA—A Celebration of Life Service for Charles L. Brackett, Jr., 73, of Columbia, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Riverland Hills Baptist Church, 201 Lake Murray Blvd., Irmo, SC 29063.The Reverend Dr. Tim Philips will officiate.The family will greet friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Charles, beloved husband of Patricia Ann Cook Brackett, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018. He was born in Anderson, SC to the late Charles L. Brackett, Sr., and Virginia Henderson Brackett. He proudly served in the National Guard from 1967-1973. Charles was a graduate from Trinity University in Newburg, IN.Hewas a member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church. Charles was also a member of NANC (National Association of Nouthetic Counselors) as a Bible teacher and Biblical Counselor. Charles retired after many years of loyal service from SLR Service, where he worked as a Business Manager. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Surviving in addition to his wife of 50 years, Pat Brackett; son, Nathan Brackett (Nicole); daughter, Anissa L. Uscocovich (Carlos); sister, Eileen Matton; father-in-law, Raymond A. Cook; 6 grandchildren: Laurel, Luke, Cassandra, Abigail, Carleigh and Cedric.He was preceded in death by his grandson, Ian Brackett. Memorials may be made to Compassion International, 12290 Voyager Parkway, Colorado Springs, CO 80921 or Mission Programs at Riverland Hill Baptist Church.
