Woodford I. "Woody" Moore

Little Mountain—A memorial service for Woody Moore, 77, of Little Mountain, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Chapin United Methodist Church, 415 Lexington Ave., Chapin, SC 29036.Reverend Jody Flowers and Reverend Paul Allen will officiate.Burial will follow in church cemetery with military honors.The family will greet friends following the service at the church. Woody Moore, the beloved husband of Elizabeth “Libbie” Stokes Moore, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019.Born in South Hampton, NY to Erna Hinsch Moore and the late Irving Tabor Moore.He was a graduate of Eau Claire High School and attended the University of SC. Woody proudly served in the US Air Force for 5 years.After returning to Columbia, he worked as a Salesman for several companies before retiring.Woody was a very active member of Chapin UMC, where he sang in the Adult Choir,served on several church missions and taught Sunday School.He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.Woody was an avid Gamecock fan and loved telling funny stories. Surviving in addition to his wife of 54 years, Libbie; mother, Erna Moore; son, Kevin Moore (Tracy); daughters, Ali McKinney (Mark) and Viki Moore; sister, Joan Slice (Ray); 13 grandchildren, Justin Moore (Kirsten), Eric Moore (Shaina), Zach Slice, Alexis Moore, Kelsey O’Neal (John), Lauren McKinney, Tabor McKinney, Alisa Rogers, Nolan Rogers, and Dylan Rogers; three great-grandchildren, Ethan Moore, Braylon Moore, and Jackson Moore. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chapin United Methodist Church, 415 Lexington Ave., Chapin, SC 29036 or a donation of blood or platelets to the American Red Cross.
