The funeral service for Wilma D. Grindstaff, 90 of Columbia, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Riverland Hills Baptist Church.The family will greet friends from 1:00 pm- 2:00 pm prior to the service at the church.Burial will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens. Wilma was born on January 31, 1932, in Butler, Tennessee to the late Warren McDuff Dugger and Etta May Estes Dugger.She passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022.She was Valedictorian at Hampton High School and a graduate of East Tennessee State University in 1954.Wilma was married three weeks after graduation, she taught school for 9 years in Kingsport, TN. She became a homemaker after the birth of her first child.The family moved to Columbia in September 1969.Wilma was an active member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church, where she prepared meals, on Tuesday nights for visitation ministry. She was also a member of the Faith Sunday School Class.Wilma was also a member of the Whitehall Garden Club. Survivors include her loving husband of 67 years, Jack F. Grindstaff, Sr.; daughter, Jana Cardoza; son, J. Frank Grindstaff, Jr.; sister, Anna Adkins; 5 grandchildren, Josh and Marissa Cardoza, Trey, Kaylin, and Ciara Grindstaff. She was preceded in death, besides her parents, by a brother, Charles Dugger.
