William C. Nichols

William C. Nichols, Sr. 86, of Irmo, passed away on July 1, 2018. He was born in Manning, SC and was the son of the late Lyonelle Clifton Nichols and Doska Wactor Nichols. William served in the Korean War from 1948 to 1952. He was the past president of SC Jaycees from 1964 to 1965. William also was retired from the U.S. Post Office as a letter carrier #126 and a Life Member. He was a member of the NALC Branch #233 from 1954 to 1986. His hobbies included bowling. diving, cars, his land and home. William is survived by son, William C. Nichols, Jr. and his wife Susan H. Nichols; brother, Tommy Nichols; brother-in-law, Jerry Rhodes; four grandchildren, Beth, Randy, Carmen and Laura; seven great-grands. Graveside service will be conducted at Fort Jackson National Cemetery on Friday August 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. The family will receive friends following the service at their home, 1 Arrow Lake Road, Irmo, SC 29063.
