It is with profound sadness and much love that we mourn the passing of William “Bill” Michael Kelly, 70 of Columbia, South Carolina. William was born February 15, 1951, in Kansas City, Missouri, and went home with his Lord on November 11, 2021. The son of the late John T. Kelly Jr. and Mary G. Kelly (Sheck), William proudly served his country in the U.S.M.C. before putting his talents to work in the pharmaceutical industry where he was a loyal and dedicated employee of 40 years. Upon his retirement, William and his wife Anna relocated from the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Columbia, South Carolina where he became a fast friend to all in his local community of Irmo. William will be greatly missed by many and is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Anna Maria Kelly (Liedtke); His brothers, Larry Kelly (Celeste) and Paul Kelly (Lisa); His stepsons, Kenneth Harvey Swinehart, Jr. and Walter James Swinehart; His nephews, Ian Kelly and Jack Kelly; and his step-grandchildren, Jonathan Gene Kolifrath, Valarie Elise Barraclough (Swinehart), Ty Swinehart, and Gabriel Kennedy. William was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brother Robert J. Kelly and his stepdaughter, Leslie Ann Kolifrath (Swinehart). A graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Military Honors will be rendered by the United States Marine Corps. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
