CHAPIN—William Hascle Burroughs Jr., 86of Chapin S.C. passed away on December 4, 2016 at home surrounded by family. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Jean Stewart Burroughs on April 28, 2006 and son Robert W. Burroughs on May 3, 2015. The son of the late Amy and William H. Burroughs Sr.Bill was born on July 4, 1930 in Lebanon TN. Bill is survived by daughter-in-law, Susan Burroughs (Bob), Fayetteville, GA; daughter, Betty Ratteree (Ron), Columbia, S.C. and son,Jim Burroughs (Debbie), Isle of Palms, S.C.; grandchildren Courtney ( Alex), Lindsey (Adam), Leigh (Shawn), Jeff (Kelly), Lauren (Todd), Jim Jr. (Stephanie), Raymond (Morgan), Bret and many great grandchildren;brother, Jim Burroughs as well as nieces,Katherine, Amy and Brandy and a nephew, Hal.He was predeceased by a sister, Kay Sparks. In early life, he was a proud Eagle Scout. Bill was a chemical engineering graduate of Vanderbilt University. He enjoyed a long career with the DuPont Company. There will be a private family internment. Memorials maybe made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stoneridge Lane, Columbia, SC 29210 or charities of your choice.
