Little Mountain—Funeral services for Walter Ronnie Youngblood, 83, of Little Mountain, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 28, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Irmo, 7068 Nursery Road, Columbia, SC 29212, Reverend Dr. Clark McCrary will officiate.Burial will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.Temples Halloran Funeral Home is assisting the family. Mr. Youngblood, beloved husband of Betty Ruth Price Youngblood, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018. He was born in Clearwater, SC on January 22, 1935 to late Rufus Eldridge Youngblood and Loree Foreman Youngblood.He was a 1955 graduate of Langley Bath Clearwater High School, where he was a star athlete. After graduation he proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Ronnie worked for Independent Life Co. from 1958 to 1997 holding various positions, retiring as District Manager. After retiring he went back to work for McDaniel’s and Assoc. Investment Firm from 2005-2016. He was a member of First Baptist of Irmo, where he served as Deacon and on the Finance Committee. Ronnie also served on manycommittees in other churches throughout his working career.He was also a member of the Toast Masters, Kiwanis Club, he was past president of the Gamecock Club in Greenwood County. Surviving in addition to his loving wife 60 years, Betty Price Youngblood; daughters, Sharon Talley, andLinda Burton (Randy); son, Michael Ronnie Youngblood, Sr. (Heather); sisters, Janice Krepps (Bob), Daisy Herndon (Bo), Mary McCorkle and Helen Jordan (Bobby); brother, Boots Stewart; 6 grandchildren, Allison Inge (PJ), Abbie Youngblood, Michael Ronnie Youngblood, Jr., Kaitlin French, Chandler French, and Kendall French; 3 great-grandchildren, Sam Inge, Hannah Chau and Rhett Inge.He was preceded in death by son-in-law, Ed Talley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Irmo, 7068 Nursery Road, Columbia, SC 29212.
