Walter F. Nawrocki

Walter F. Nawrocki, 89, of Columbia, South Carolina, formerly of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away on August 1, 2024 at Prisma Health Richland, Columbia, S.C. He was born on July 9, 1935 in Belvidere, NJ, a son of the late Joseph and Catherine Tomczyk Nawrocki. Walt graduated from Belvidere High School in 1954. He was employed with McLean Packaging in Nazareth, Pa., for 60 years, retiring in 2016 at the age of 80. Walter spent nights and weekends doing handyman jobs, painting, roofing, siding and general construction. He was an avid Nascar and Indy car racing fan. He enjoyed star-gazing, rocket launches, going to airshows, airplane watching and relaxing and sitting on his porch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Shirley, brother, Robert Nawrocki and sisters, Lottie Albanese, Dolores Molnar and Joyce Smickle. Walter is survived by his daughter, Dawn Paulus and her husband Daniel of Winnsboro, S.C., Step-children; Charmayne Richline and her husband Michael of Moore Twp., Pa., Chuck Hoerl of Easton, Pa., Gilbert Hoerl of Baltimore, Karen Salter of Saylorsburg, Pa., along with his grandchildren, Danielle, Michelle, Amanda, and his great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Kyaire and KeMya. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph Nawrocki and his wife Wanda of Roanoke, VA., and Donald Nawrocki and his wife Blendia of Belvidere, NJ. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 10 AM to 11 AM at The Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman St., Phillipsburg, NJ, followed by a Funeral Service at 11. Interment will then take place in the Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp., PA.
