Memorial service for Wallace Eugene Chapman III “Trey”, will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022, at Temples Halloran Funeral Home Chapel, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The memorial service will begin at 12:30 p.m. Trey was born on February 26, 2000, in Columbia, SC, and passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022. He was the son of Wallace Eugene Chapman Jr. and Cha Chapman and brother to Sarah Chapman Denis. Trey loved music and going to concerts, movies, and his friends, and he dearly loved his cat, Cheese. Trey recently moved to Savannah, GA to live with good friends and begin an apprenticeship in carpentry. Trey is survived by his parents Wallace and Cha, his step-mother Deborah Chapman, his sister Sarah and brother-in-law Kyle Denis, his step-brother Dalton Hahn; paternal grandparents, Wallace Eugene Chapman and Nancy Chapman; uncles and aunts, Nathan and Sharon Chapman, Jonathan and Johanna Chapman, Pete and Sally Russell, Suzy Lindsey, Dale and Sharon Reitz, John and Vickie Kupres, Sandy Kupres, Jeff and Jackee Kupres; and cousins, Art and Laura Garrison, Abigail Chapman, Rachel Chapman, Evan Garrison, Teana and Ashley Moates, Forrest and Veronica Garrison, Shane and Teresa Russell, Jennifer Hooper, Jamie Hooper, Dale Reitz Jr., Danny Reitz, Carrie Reitz, Angie Kupres, Amanda Anderson, TJ Kupres, Keygan Kupres, Seth Kupres, Gabe Kupres, and Karlee Kupres. Trey is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, John and Barbara Kupres; paternal great-grandparents, Roy and Virginia Chapman, Hobart and Lucile Collins; and great-aunt Rosevelyn Garrison. Trey benefitted greatly from his time at Cumberland Heights and was still in communication with some of the counselors from Cumberland Heights that had a profound impact on his life. All donations will generate scholarships for patients-in-need, each year in perpetuity via Cumberland Heights’ endowment.
