Toni Kemp Cave

December 1, 1948 — November 30, 2023

The memorial service for Toni Kemp Cave, 74, of Columbia, will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023, at 3:00 p.m., in the chapel of Temples-Halloran Funeral Home. The Reverend Paul Allen will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 2:50 p.m. on the day of the service. Toni was born in Walterboro on December 1, 1948, to the late Eugene Lynwood Kemp and Bebe Daniels Kemp. She passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Lexington Medical Center. Toni graduated from Walterboro High School in 1967. She was Miss Freshman, Miss Sophomore, Miss Junior and a Senior Beauty. She and her husband, Bob, started dating in the 9th grade. Toni and Bob were married on December 27, 1969. She also attended the University of South Carolina. Toni worked 20 years as Executive Secretary with Ebert Sportswear. She also worked for the South Carolina Tuition Grants Commission for 15 years until retirement in 2011. Toni is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Robert E. “Bob” Cave. She is also survived by her brother, Eugene L. Kemp (Debbie), of Greenville, and two grandchildren, Second Lieutenant Arista Noel Couture of the United States Air Force and Layton Kemp Cave. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Patrick Kemp Cave, her gift from heaven. She is also survived by her “boys” as she called them, Cash, a Husky/Chow mix and Tango, a Plott Hound. She would spend numerous hours on the couch with one asleep at her feet on the couch and the other asleep in the chair. She loved her dogs. Over the years she had Basset Hounds, Brandy and Bertha; Black Labs, Riah and Dizzy; Dachshund, Otis; Golden Retriever, Cooper; and American Bulldog, Brahma. She also had a tremendous love for Edisto Beach, where as a child and adult she spent many wonderful weeks. But her most precious thing in her life was spending time with Arista and Layton. She passionately loved her family and always made sure they knew how much they were loved and how proud she was of them. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a gift to Pawmetto Lifeline (https://pawmettolifeline.org) in Toni’s memory.
