Thomas Cecil Price

A memorial service for Thomas Cecil Price, 73, of Irmo, will be held at 3 pm, Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at White Rock Baptist Church, 1409 Peace Haven Road, Chapin, SC 29036. The Reverend Glenn Day will officiate. The family will receive visitors beginning at 2 pm prior to the service. Mr. Price passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021. He was born in Columbia, SC on April 27, 1947, to the late Marion Price and Hallie Mae David Price. He was a member of White Rock Baptist Church and proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. He was honorably discharged as an E-4 Corporal of the 3rd BN 8th Marine 2nd Marine Division in 1969. He worked as a Supervisor of Dispatch for SCE&G prior to his retirement after 38 years. He is preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Ann Green Price. They were happily married for 44 years. She was the love of his life. He is survived by his son, Lee Price (Stacey) of Chapin; daughter, Marianne Price Smith (Danny) of Irmo; grandchildren, Drew Smith, McKenzie Smith, Hallee Price, and Hudson Price. He was known by many family and friends as Granddaddy and he loved them all. He loved his church family and loved to serve the Lord. We would like to give special thanks to Compassionate Care Hospice, specifically his Aide, Avis, and nurse, Lee Thompson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Epworth Children’s Home, 2900 Millwood Avenue, Columbia, SC 29250, or White Rock Baptist Church.
