COLUMBIA-Funeral Service will be held for Major Thomas McNeillie, Jr, US Air Force, retired, 79 of Columbia, at graveside on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 10 a.m. in Fort Jackson National Cemetery Columbia, SC with full military honors. Officiating will be Father Peter Sousa. Born in New Castle, PA on October 19, 1935 he was the son of the late Thomas McNeillie, Sr. and Mildred Campbell McNeillie. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force for over 20 years. From there, he went on to get his BS Degree in Management and then his Master’s Degree in Education. Tom worked for Mutual of Omaha as an Insurance Agent and was a successful High School Teacher for several years. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Irene Berbrich McNeillie of Columbia, SC; son, Michael McNeillie, of Columbia, SC; granddaughter, Brandy McNeillie of Chapin, SC; grandson, Gary McNeillie and wife Megan McNeillie of Greenville, SC granddaughter, Christa Barrett and husband Nick Barrett of Chicago, Illinois, granddaughter, Melissa McNeillie and Justinh Avery of Pasadena, CA; great-granddaughter, Hailey McNeillie of Chapin, SC, great-grandsons, Peyton McNeillie of Chapin, SC and Liam McNeillie of Greenville, SC.
