Thomas "Noot" Bouknight

IRMO—Funeral services for Carnell “Noot” Bouknight, 91, of Irmo will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2015 at Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.Reverend Paul Sizemore will officiate.Burial will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Bouknight passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2015.Born in Irmo he was the son of the late Reuben I. Bouknight and Ophelia Warner Bouknight. He was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church.He was a retired carpenter. His family was one of the original settlers in Irmo. Noot was a farmer, gardener and an avid fisherman.Mr. Bouknight was still residing in the original home place until his move to Generations of Chapin in April, 2014. Surviving is his brother, Earl Bouknight of Irmo; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Thurmond “Bum” Bouknight, L. E. “Sebe” Bouknight, Randolph Bouknight and J.B. Bouknight and one sister, Leila V. “Beck” Shumpert. The family would like to personally thank the staff at Generations of Chapin, Dr. Scott McKay and Dr. Vern Prosser for their care and compassion given Uncle Noot.Also a very special thank you to the Salkehatchie Group assisting at the old home place.
