Susan Louise Nanney, 78, of Irmo, passed away surrounded by her loving family on November 25, 2022. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Faith Presbyterian Church, 1811 Dutch Fork Road, Irmo, SC 2906, Reverend Karl McCallister will officiate. Susan was born on January 4, 1944, to the late George and Verna Brummer Robinson. She devoted her life to caring for her family, who meant the world to her. Susan was a graduate of Montreat College where she met her husband, Harry. Susan was an avid reader, a lover of history, and a family genealogist. She loved traveling. Susan and Harry traveled extensively, but the places that captured her heart the most were the High Deserts in New Mexico, the Lakes of Honey Harbor, Canada, and the beach at Cape San Blas, Florida. Susan was an active member of Faith Presbyterian Church and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. In addition, to begin as a homemaker, Susan loved volunteering at the MANNA Food Bank in Asheville, NC, Christ Central in Columbia, various committees at her church, and as a docent at the Black Mountain Chamber of Commerce. Those left to remember her include her devoted husband of 53 years, Harry M. Nanney; caring daughters: Karen Ballentine and Lisa Nanney, and five adoring grandchildren: Sarah Buck, Jacob Rubino, Jonathan “J.C.” Ballentine, Emma Ballentine, and Henry Holcombe.
