Stephen A. “Steve” McKee, Jr. Columbia-- The funeral service for Mr. Stephen A. “Steve” McKee (85) of West Columbia will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Park Street Baptist Church, 2204 Park Street Columbia, S.C. 29201 with the Reverend Jay Black officiating.The family will receive friends from 11:00 -12:00 prior to funeral service in the church sanctuary.Inurnment will take place at a later time at Fort Jackson National Cemetery with honors by the U.S. Army. Steve was born August 15, 1932 to the late Stephen A. McKee Sr., and Mamie Matthews McKee.He was a graduate of the Old Columbia High School, class of 1952 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.Steve retired as a police officer from the City of Columbia Police Department after 28 years of dedicated service.Many of the local funeral homes remember Steve escorting funerals on his motorcycle to various area cemeteries.He and his family were longtime members of Park Street Baptist Church. Surviving is his loving wife of 58 years, Joyce Geiger McKee; Son, Andy McKee and wife, Daniela of Lexington, S.C.; Grandson, Matthew McKee and beloved family cat, Sunny.Those who preceded him in death besides his parents were (6) sisters.
