Shirley Ann Kaiser Dzoba, 86, born June 22, 1932, to Ocie Graf Kaiser and Elmer Harold Kaiser, passed on February 14, 2019.Shirley graduated from Hillside High School, then attended Berkeley Secretarial School in New Jersey.Shirley worked for established law firms in Newark, NJ and was recognized for typing letter-perfect wills.Later, Shirley was one of the first female US Army civilian employees that served with the Military Police at Fort Gordon, Georgia during the Korean War.Shirley married Raymond Dzoba on April 3, 1954. In 1961, Shirley and her husband moved their family from Baltimore, Maryland to Lake Parsippany, New Jersey and established her first household.Eventually, they settled in Morristown, NJ. Shirley was an avid crafter, seamstress, knitter, bicycle rider, card player, fisherperson, and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.She enjoyed swimming and gave performances with the YMCA Synchronized Swim Team.In 1988, she becomes affectionately known as the “Grouper Lady” after catching a Nassau Grouper at Walker’s Cay in the Bahamas which fed the entire island on the day of her catch.Returning to work after her family had grown, she returned to law, working for Madison, NJ firm and ultimately for a New Jersey Judge.She was a Life long member of the Eastern Star. Shirley and her family spent their adult years in Morristown, NJ and on Long Beach Island, NJ, eventually retiring to Lake Murray in Chapin, SC. Shirley is survived by sons, Rodger and family, Debbie, Christopher, Nicholas; Jeff and family, Julie, Ashley and her husband, Steve, Brandon; Rob and family, Carolyn, Lauren, and Katie; and her sister, Beverly, and nephew, Richard. A Celebration of Shirley’s Life will be held for her beloved family and friends on Friday, March 1, 2019, at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.
