Shannon "Todd" Mcgill

Shannon “Todd” McGill, 38, of West Columbia, passed away from this life on November 9, 2021. Todd was born on September 23, 1983, to Laurie Scott and Jerry McGill, Jr. in Lexington, SC, and was a resident of South Carolina all his life.He loved his wife, Chasity, his fur babies, and family and friends more than anything.He loved fishing and his Clemson Tigers.In the words of his sister Haley, “He was a very vibrant soul”. Todd is survived by his loving wife of almost 11 years, Chasity McGill; mother, Laurie Scott (Brian); father, Jerry McGill (Mandy), and sisters, Haley McGill, Kaylyn Roof (Chris), Taylor and Brittany Scott; great-grandmother, Doris Hall; paternal grandfather, Jerry McGill, Sr., and maternal grandparent, Robert Peele (Sandra); uncles, Robbie Peele (Janet), Brian McGill and Scott McGill (Tara) all of South Carolina;father and mother-in-law, Shane Sanders (Penny); sister-in-law, Brittney Sanders and two brother-in-law, Christopher and Steven Sanders all of Chipley, Florida. He is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Sherry Hall Peele, Linda Brantley McGill, grandfather Sonny Hall; aunt Toni McGill, and other grandparents. Todd was the type of person that always knew what to say.Anyone who knew Todd described him as a loving, kind, genuine, and all-around great person.He will truly be missed by so many.We know he got to hear the words he always wanted to hear when he reached heaven's gates, “Well done my good and faithful servant”. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that any donations be made to the U-Turn for Christ, 1156 Barr Road, Lexington, SC 29072. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212, Mark Crumpton will be officiating.The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. before the service at the funeral home. The family requests that in Todd's memory, those coming to the service wear their favorite casual wear such as a fishing shirt or sports team clothes with blue jeans.
