LEXINGTON—Memorial service for SFC Earl Pete Miller (Ret. Army), will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Ft. Jackson Main Post Chapel, 4580 Scales Ave., Columbia, SC 29207. D. Michael Henthorne will be officiating.Inurnment will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, December 22, 2014 in Ft. Jackson National Cemetery.Temples Halloran Funeral Home is assisting the family. Pete passed away on November 4, 2014.Born in Welch, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Clarence Miller and Hilda Williamson Miller.Pete retired after 21 years of service to his country in the United States Army.Pete completed three tours in Vietnam, he received the National Defense service Medal; Army commendation Medal (2d OLC); Air Medal (4thAWD); Vietnam Service Medal w/ 4 Bronze service stars; just to name a few. After his retirement, he worked as a golf pro and business executive. Surviving are his wife, Jacquetta J. Miller; brothers, Donald Miller and Jackie Miller; sister, Betty Belcher (Chester) and special nephews, Matt and Sam Belcher. Pete is also survived by other nephews, nieces, step-children, step-grandchildren and many special friends including Mike, Duran, and Jerry.
