Sebastian C. Bosco

A Mass of Christian Burial for Sebastian Carmen Bosco, 81, of West Columbia, will be held at 9:00 a.m., Friday, February 24, 2023, at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church (2229 Hampton Street, Columbia, SC 29204). A graveside service will follow the Mass at Fort Jackson National Cemetery (4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29229) with honors by the United States Army. Sebastian was born in Priolo, Sicily, Italy, on March 26, 1941, and departed this earthly life on February 21, 2023. He was the son of the late Saverio Bosco and Michelina Lombardo Bosco. Mr. Bosco proudly served his country in the United States Army and the United States Army Reserves for 38 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was a proud graduate of the University of Connecticut. He devoted many years to teaching in public schools. Sebastian was a member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Columbia, SC. Sebastian is survived by his loving family including his wife, Patricia Sangren; his daughters, Irene Bosco (Jeff Smith) of Berlin, Connecticut; Michelle Bosco of Norwich, Connecticut; and Lisa Hockenberry of Columbia, SC; his brothers, Salvatore Bosco (Barbara) and Vincent Bosco; and his five grandchildren, Sydney; Avery; Lily; Anne Heyward; and Christobel. Sebastian is also survived by a multitude of loving cousins. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the charity of one’s choice.
