Sandra Rogers Shealy

July 30, 1938 — March 21, 2023

Sandra Rogers Shealy, age 84, of Chapin, SC passed away on March 21, at home surrounded by her family. Born in Mullins, SC, the daughter of the late Colonel C. Rogers and Lucille Hood Rogers. She grew up in Fork, SC, where she graduated from Lake View High School. She obtained a B.A. degree from Columbia College in elementary education and an Associate degree from Midlands Technical College in business administration. She taught at North Augusta Elementary School and Joseph Keels Elementary. After several years of raising her family, she worked at the Student Loan Corporation until she retired. Her interests included dancing, reading, watching Gamecock sports and travel. She was a life member of National American Ex-Prisoners of War and The American Defenders of Bataan and Corregidor, member of Ex-POW Palmetto chapter, Chapin United Methodist Church and White Rock Friends and former member of Lake Murray Boating and Sports Club. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Stokes K. Shealy, Sr., brother, Maywood Rogers, and sister, Virginia Gordon. Mrs. Shealy is survived by her daughters, Dana (Steve) Asbill of Greencastle, PA, Tia Sweat of Irmo, SC and Kay (Clay) Harrill of York, SC; and grandchildren Steven Asbill Jr., Ashlan Asbill, Madison Sweat, Seth Harrill and Blake Harrill. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 25 at Bush River Memorial Gardens in Columbia, SC (5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212). The Rev. Dr. Jody Flowers will officiate.
