Ruby Lee Mixon Allen

IRMO—A memorial service for Ruby Lee Mixon Allen, 85, of Irmo, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the Chapel of Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212, Andy Stokes will officiate. The family will receive friends 12-1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Ruby passed away on Monday, November 12, 2018, born in Cheraw, SC on March 16, 1933 to the late Herbert Duncan Mixon and Willa Beulah Outlaw Mixon.She attended Lower Richland High School and worked as a Desk Clerk for Master Economy Inn for over 25 years. Surviving are her daughters, Sharon Darlene Slashinski (John) of Irmo and Elizabeth Ann Richens (Tony) of Leesville; sons, Albert Duncan Douglas (Becky) of Manti, UT and Charles Anthony Allen (Tina) of Salley, SC; sister, Velenia Gaites (Al) of Gilbert, SC; 11 grandchildren, Melody and Ryan Slashinski, Christopher Yocum, Shannon Thompson, Danielle and Joshua Douglas, Lisa, Whitney, Tara and Anthony Allen, Brandon Peebles; and 14 great-grandchildren. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mary Louise Hyatt and 2 brothers, William “Billy” Mixon and Robert “Bob” Mixon.
