Rosemary was born September 25, 1927, in Columbia, to the late Grover Cleveland Caldwell, Sr., and Rosalie Sandifer Caldwell. She was a member of Dutch Fork Baptist Church for around 50 years. Rosemary was pre-deceased by her husband of 65 years, Albert Audell Craft, Sr. Later, she was blessed to marry James Young on Easter Sunday, 2014 until he passed in 2018. Rosemary was also pre-deceased by her brothers: G.C. Caldwell, Ralph Caldwell, and David Caldwell; her sisters: Mildred Aldridge and Doris Caldwell; and two of her great-grandchildren: Parker & Haley Hewitt. Surviving are her five children: Albert "Bert" A. Craft, Jr. (Susan), Linda Sears (Rick), Ralph Craft, Millie Fore (Phillip); and Rhonda Metz (Joe); sister: Carolyn Jeter of Columbia; 15 grandchildren: Eric Craft (Jennifer), Crystal Ngygen, Justin Craft, Laura Nimmons (Brady), Ryan Butler (Mary), Jason Craft (Jenn), Melissa Craft, Kimberly Craft, Emily Craft (Michael), Crystal Hewitt, Tiffany Martin (Adam), Matthew Fore (Joy), Lacey Beam (Alan), Brad Metz, and Amanda Metz; 25 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends that will miss her dearly, including those she called her "adopted children.” Rosemary enjoyed hosting family gatherings for any and all visitors who “popped in.” She was a gracious and loving mother. Rosemary loved gardening - both flowers and vegetables - and canning. She even loved pulling weeds, picking up sticks, and pinecones, no matter the weather. Rosemary often said she would rather be outside than inside. She loved Lake Murray and had Easter celebrations there for many years. Rosemary loved people and was on a couple of bowling teams in Irmo; she worked many puzzles and ate ice cream, especially chocolate anytime she could. She dearly loved her Church family at Dutch Fork Baptist. She truly was a Christian woman. The family wishes to thank Fairforest Grove Assisted Living/Memory Care. Mom lived there for over 4 years and enjoyed the outings and activities there. She always cut up with the residents and workers there and loved to give hugs. Rosemary brightened up everyone’s day. Many thanks also go to Heart of Hospice for their care when she needed it. A special thanks to Virginia MacDonald for all her care and compassion. We are so grateful for the many hours she stayed with mom and want her to know that she made a difference. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dutch Fork Baptist Church 3517 Dreher Shoals Road, Irmo, SC 29063.
