CHAPIN-A memorial service for David R. "Ronnie" Amick, 65, of Chapin, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, 11733 Broad River Road, Chapin, SC 29036.Officiating will be Reverend Beverly Aurand. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service. Born in Conway, SC, he is the son of Mrs. Betty Bessent Amick and the late Mr. David Amick.Ronnie was a graduate of Richland District One Schools, finishing in the old Columbia High School in 1969.He played both football and basketball for the Capitals. Ronnie was voted Most Athletic in his senior year in 1969. He was a long time member of Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church of Chapin.His career span approximately 25+ years. And also served time in the Navy Surviving are his longtime companion Ms. Lynda Merritt, his mother, Betty of Chapin; son, Travis Amick (Lauren) of Lexington; sisters, Hazel Caudle (Dan) of Lexington, Marcia Ellerman (Bill) Irmo; brothers, Carroll Amick (Jane) of Chapin, Lester Amick of Chapin and Dickie Amick (Denise) of Chapin; one granddaughter, Taylor, as well as a large number of nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
