Ronald N. "Ron" Allen

Ronald Norris “Ron” Allen, 79, of Irmo, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2024. Born in Columbia, South Carolina on May 22, 1945 he was the son of the late Thomas G. and Mary Bell Gulledge Allen. Ron served in the United States Air Force for 25 years and later went on to be a long-haul trucker. He loved creating through woodworking, fishing for whatever was biting, watching NASCAR, and all of his beloved dogs. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his sisters: Rosalee Waites and Elaine Weed; and his brothers: JP, Thomas C. “Carey," and David Allen. Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Melinda M. Allen; his son: Richie Allen (Marie); sister-in-law Doris W. Allen; a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and great-great-nieces and -nephews; and his two cherished puppies: Luci and Fred. A graveside service for Ron will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 11:00 am in Bush River Memorial Gardens, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, South Carolina, with Reverend Chuck Staggs officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:00 am until the hour of service in the Chapel of Temples-Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, South Carolina, 29212.
