Robert Harrison Parnell

COLUMBIA—Funeral services for Robert Harrison and Wilma Crawford Parnell will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the Chapel of Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.Entombment will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will greet friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Robert Harrison Parnell was the son of the late, Robert Middleton Parnell and Kathryn Fullerwider Parnell. Wilma Crawford Parnell was the daughter of the late John Robert Crawford and Maida Bagwell Crawford. Mr. & Mrs. Parnell were married for 65 years. They attended Riverland Hills Baptist Church and were both graduates of USC.Robert proudly serviced in the US Navy.He retired after 35 years of service from Rich’s Department Store known as Macy’s now. Wilma retired from Southern Bell after 35 years of service. Surviving are their children, daughter, Susan Parnell Lambert (Darren) of Cayce; son, Michael Parnell (Dona) of Lexington; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Robert is survived by two sisters, Doris Howie (Jim) of Columbia and Jeanne Tarleton of Charleston; brother, Nelson Parnell of Columbia. They were preceded in death by a son, Mark Parnell and Wilma’s nine brothers and sisters. Memorials maybe made to St. Baldrick Foundation, 1333 S. Mayflower Avenue, #400, Monrovia, CA 91016.
