Robert Burns Gault

Robert “Robbie” Burns Gault, 35, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023 in Chapin, South Carolina. Born in Columbia, South Carolina on May 18, 1988, he was the son of Jean Shetterly Gault and John Melton Gault III, who passed away September 8, 1990. Robbie graduated from Chapin High School, class of 2006, and University of South Carolina, class of 2012, with a BA in Experimental Psychology. He spent over ten years working at HireRight Holdings Corporation in multiple roles and most recently, as a Data Solutions Engineer. Robbie was a member of Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church, Chapin, South Carolina. In addition to his mother, Robbie is survived by his brother John Gault, aunt Diane Cox (Bill), aunt Karen Shetterly, cousins Carolyn Cox, Laura Hall (Eric), Lauren Shetterly, Jayne Cowsert (Clark), Robbie Cowsert (Lisa), Brian Cowsert (Melanie), pet dog Duke Gault and also blessed with many close friends and family members. In addition to his father, Robbie was predeceased by pet dog Rowdy Gault, uncles James Gault and James Knox Shetterly, paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. John Melton Gault Jr. and his maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Williams Burns Shetterly. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 beginning at 11:00 am with the visitation service, followed by the memorial service at 12:00 pm and then the inurnment. All services will be held at the Temples-Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Rd., Columbia, South Carolina, 29212. The Reverend Dr. Patrick W. Riddle will be officiating. The family will greet friends at the visitation and after the inurnment.
