Robert "Bob" Joseph Majka

Robert J. Majka Jr., 79, proud United States Army Veteran, beloved husband of Karen N. (nee McGillivray), loving father of Jacqueline (Jonathan) Graham and Peggy (Michael) Maxwell, entered eternal peace on May 11, 2022, in Lexington, SC.Robert was the son of the late Robert J. Sr. and Helen (nee Szczepanski) Majka, dear grandfather to Christian, Sarah, Lauren, and Bobby, fond brother of Diane (Paul) Coan, cherished brother-in-law, uncle, and friend to many. Robert was born in Chicago, Illinois, attended Reavis High School in Burbank, Illinois, and worked in the construction and railroad industries during his career, leading many employees in various management roles and serving as President of Chicago ARSA (American Railroad Supervisors Association). Robert was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Orland Hills, Illinois, and enjoyed the latter years of his retirement splitting time between his homes in Illinois and South Carolina. Robert was known for his uplifting sense of humor and his favorite pastimes included fishing, boating, spending time outdoors, baseball, football, bowling, physical fitness, and spending time with family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held, with military honors, on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Temples Halloran Funeral Home located at 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC, 29212.
