Richard Paul Pavlick, 67, of Columbia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Passaic, New Jersey, to Michael Arthur and Anna Bobela Pavlick on February 21, 1957. Rich is survived by his sisters, Jane Andolsek and Ann M. Pavlick, his brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Laura Pavlick, and his nephews David (Christine) Stockton, Greg (Barbara) Stockton, and Todd (Stacey) Stockton. Rich was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Sharon Stockton, and brothers-in-law Ray Andolsek and Bill Stockton. Rich moved to Columbia in 1975 to attend the University of South Carolina. He graduated from Carolina in 1979 with a degree in Business. He was employed as a sales manager at various car dealerships in the Columbia area for over 35 years until he retired in 2016. He maintained a friendship for many years with Miss Margaret Boston who also worked in the car business. Rich enjoyed playing golf twice a week with his close friends, John, David, Rob, Scott and Demetrios. Rich always loved spending time with his very close longtime friend Jolene who lives here in Columbia. They spent time together grilling out, attending concerts and enjoying life. They also spent weekends on the water at the Santee lake house, boating, fishing and playing with their four dogs. The Keys in Florida and New Jersey were two of his favorite travel destinations. He was a big fan of classic rock music, the New York Jets and Yankees along with the Carolina Gamecocks. A celebration of Richard’s life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024.
