(Ret) Roland Malcolm Shick

Lt. Col. (Ret) Roland M. Shick, 88, died on Sunday, September 19, 2021, in Columbia, SC. Mr. Shick is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joan, and three children: Thomas M. Shick, Lisa Shick Wilson, and Robert M. Shick.He is predeceased by a son, Jeffrey R. Shick.He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and a son and daughter-in-law. Roland Shick was a decorated veteran serving in the Army as a Green Beret in the Korean and Vietnam wars.He served his country for 22 years.After the military, Roland worked as a Master Plumber in Florida and South Carolina with his son, Robert.He also worked for Richland-Lexington County School District 5 in maintenance for five years. A funeral will be held at a later date at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
