Reba V. Gresham

The funeral service for Mrs. Reba V. Gresham, 76, of Columbia, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2021, in the chapel of Temples Halloran Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Dr. Mark Bredholdt. The family will receive friends from noon to the hour of the service at the funeral home. Reba was born in Greenville, SC on August 5, 1945, and died on November 11, 2021. She was the daughter of the late John Davidson Vaughn and Almeta Candler Vaughn. Mrs. Gresham was a proud graduate of Greenville High School and Mars Hill University. Reba retired in 2001 from Richland County School District 1, where she taught math and algebra at C.A. Johnson High School for 26 years. Surviving is one son, John “David” Gresham (Coral) of Cayce; one grandchild, Thomas R. Gresham, as well as several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Perry Vaughn, and her husband Thomas M. Gresham III. Mrs. Gresham will be remembered by friends, family, and students for her selfless devotion to helping others. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to charities that support teachers. The family would like to thank the staff at Jenni-Lynn Assisted Living and NHC HealthCare-Lexington for their care of Mrs. Gresham in her final years.
