COLUMBIA—Randolph “Randy” Knight, 68, passed away June 18, 2015, at Lexington Medical Center of complications related to melanoma. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Phyllis, three step-children, 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 3 siblings.He is pre-deceased by his parents and a step-son. Randy was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. He was a graduate of Garinger High (1965). He received his business undergraduate degree from Western Carolina Univ., and his Masters from UNCC.He was a Vietnam Veteran, taught in the CMS system for 32 years, and taught in Richland School District Two for 7 years prior to retirement. He and his wife were among the most respected breeders and exhibitors of Australian Terriers and Silky Terriers. They traveled much of the country participating in dog shows under the prefix “Brandywine”.He was an avid Braves fan and a big fan of the PGA Tour. Randy will be cremated and a small service will be held at Temples Halloran Funeral Home Chapel, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212 at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2015.
