Philip Franklin Martin, Jr., 81, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 14th, 2021.He was born in Columbia, SC on November 1, 1939, and was the son of the late Philip Franklin Martin “Jack” and Vivian Sox Martin.Phil was best known for his sense of humor, his love for music, and his love for his family.His grandchildren remember fishing and boat rides with their Granddaddy on Lake Murray. He is survived by his sister, Jackie Martin Byrd (Charlie), and his daughters, Fran Lardner (Patrick), Faye Shaughnessy (Stephen), Philis Martin Best, and Angela Rose (Stuart).He is also survived by his grandchildren, Evan Garris (Delana), Caroline Sampa (Matthew), Rachel and Margaret Shaughnessy, Grayson and Madeline Best, Charlotte and Jacob Rose.; his great-grandchildren, Tripp and Jackson; and a very dear friend, Tina Duncan.Phil’s precious or beloved dogs, Jake and Annie, held a special place in his heart and were forever by his side.
