Peggy June Johnston

Peggy June Johnston, 90, of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017.She was the daughter of the late John Rennels and Angeline Shuster Rennels.Born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on June 1, 1927. Peggy was married to the late Paul R. Johnston, Sr., for 68 years. Peggy was a devoted mother and wife and loved spending time with all of her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchild.Peggy was a proud member of Christus Victor Lutheran Church in Columbia and was an avid golfer. Adored by her daughters, Patti Jo Grove (Denny) and Laurie McGraw, both of Columbia, sons Jeff Johnston (Ginger) of Simpsonville, South Carolina, and Paul R. Johnston, Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio, a brother, John Rennels of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, and grandchildren, Jodi Grove, Michelle Grove, Lindsey Turner, Todd Johnston, Hannah Johnston, and one great grandchild, Jordan Stierle.Peggy was predeceased by her twin sister, Patty D’Emilio and a great granddaughter, Jessica Grove. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, South Carolina 29212 with Pastor Fred Suhr officiating.Entombment will follow in the Bush River Memorial Garden Mausoleum.Family will greet friends following the service.
