Peggy Martin Holland

Peggy Martin Holland, 89, of Lexington, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bennettsville, S.C. on February 18, 1933, Peggy was the daughter of Julius Talmadge Martin and Virginia “Helen” Moore Martin.The funeral service for Mrs. Holland will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2022, in the chapel of Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, S.C. 29212, and will be officiated by the Rev. Dr. Ryan Pack. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. in the chapel.The family will convene for a private graveside service in Bush River Memorial Gardens. Peggy was married to the late Robert Dale Holland, Sr. for 59 years.She served as a school nurse with District Five of Lexington and Richland Counties and retired after multiple years of dedicated service to students, teachers, and the community.Peggy was a member of Chapin Presbyterian Church and enjoyed supporting various faith-based activities.An avid sports fan, she faithfully cheered for the Clemson Tigers football team and enjoyed watching all other sports activities on television.Above all else, Peggy loved spending time with her family and was very active with her grandchildren, and supported their hobbies. Those left to mourn her passing but celebrate her life include a daughter, Laura Yochum (Kim); sons, Dr. Robert Dale Holland, Jr. (Theresa); and Russell Martin Holland (Jann); brother, Pepper Martin; grandchildren, Robert D. Holland, III (Kaitlyn), Maxwell K. Holland, Eva M. Holland, Truett C. Holland, Zachary L. Yochum, Drew K. Yochum (Shannon), Lori B. Yochum; and great-granddaughter, Keller. The family of Peggy Martin Holland would like to extend a special thanks to the wonderful staff at Oakhaven and Carroll Campbell Place for the care they provided during her final years.
