A native of Irmo, South Carolina, Paul was born to Herman Napoleon Derrick and Ethel Sites Derrick. Paul was a kind man who smiled a lot. He always had compliments for those taking care of him. He worked hard and loved The LORD, speaking about going to see Him in his last days. He was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. Paul truly enjoyed a good ball game and treasured time at the beach visiting with friends and family. His wife especially cherished the fact that he never missed a moment to let her know that he loved her and thought she was special.
One of the special things about Paul was that any time you asked him how he was doing, he would say he was "fine as frog hair!". That always made people smile.
Those left to cherish his memory, include his wife, Anne Derrick, of 59 years. Also, his children: Joy (Vernon) Bauer, Steven (Cortnie) Derrick, Michelle (Scott) Tennant and his grandchildren: Josiah Bauer, Kaelen Bauer, Elyanna Bauer, Trevor Derrick, Ryan Tennant, and Levi Tennant. As well as three brothers and four sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church and McLeod Hospice House of Florence.
Temples-Halloran Funeral Home proudly serves the Derrick family in their time of grief.
