Paul Kenneth Anderson Jr., 72, passed away on August 1, 2024, in Columbia, South Carolina. Born on March 26, 1952, in Knoxville, Tennessee, Paul graduated from Holston High School as well as the University of Tennessee. He had lifelong passions for Tennessee Volunteer football and American history. Paul loved to recount stories about his family and his childhood. He was a loving husband, dedicated father, and a caring grandfather. Paul also devoted much of his time to the Dutch Fork Church in Irmo, SC, where he served as a deacon. His commitment to his faith was evident in all areas of his life. Paul is survived by his bride of 52 years, Debbie Anderson; daughters, April Gaura (Chris) and Mary Beth Nugent (Donald); grandchildren, Rebecca, Rachel, Caleb Gaura, Savannah, Autumn, and Emma Nugent; sisters, Teresa Folsom (David), Pam Brichetto (Jeff), and Elaine Long (Bob); brother-in-law, Dr. Phil Young (Kim); and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Hartsook Anderson and Paul Kenneth Anderson Sr., and his in-laws, Rev. Raymond and Bonnie Young. A celebration of Paul’s life will be held at Dutch Fork Church, located at 3517 Dreher Shoals Road, Irmo, SC, on Sunday, August 18th, 2024 at 2:30 pm. The family will receive friends in the church's Family Life Center immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: Celebrate Recovery (www.celebraterecovery.com) or Oliver Gospel Mission (www.olivergospel.org), two ministries that were close to Paul’s heart.
