COLUMBIA—Memorial service for Patsy Blackwell, 81, of Columbia will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Christian Life Church, 2700 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29210.Conducted by Pastor Tommy Reeves.The family will greet friends following the service at the church. Patsy Blackwell, beloved wife of the late J.S. Blackwell passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017.She was born in Columbia, SC to the late Enoch Jackson Sexton, Sr. and Katie Webb Sexton. She was a member of Christian Life Church.Patsy owned and operated the “Kings Kids Daycare” in Gilbert, SC for 18 years. Surviving are her daughter, Carol Sawtelle (Steve) of Columbia; four grandchildren, Meagan Hamilton (Caleb), Alexis Sawtelle, Jared Sawtelle and Benjamin Sawtelle along with a number of nieces and nephews.Patsy was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, J.S. Blackwell; brothers, Enoch Jackson Sexton, Jr. and Wesley B. Sexton and a sister, Dorothy Sexton. The family would like to thank Dr. Eddie Williams, the Columbia Medical Group and the nurses and staff at Palmetto Health Baptist for their compassionate care for her mother.
