Patricia Birch Munn

COLUMBIA—The funeral service for Patricia Birch Munn, 84, of Columbia, will be held Friday, March 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Irmo, 7068 Nursery Road, Columbia, SC 29212. Dr. C. Clark McCrary III will officiate.Visitation will be held at the church from 10-11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.Serving as pallbearers will be Sammy Tolbert, Steve Martin, Bart Trimnal, Wayne Trimnal, Ryan Martin and Stuart Jackson. Pat was born in Columbia on October 22, 1933 and passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Harold J. Birch, Sr. and Leona Hall Birch. Pat was married to the love of her life, Curtiss Munn for 53 years until his passing March, 2005. Her working life was at Belk Department Store for over 35 years of service. She was well known for her beauty and her impeccable sense of style.She started in the hat department and worked her way up to Buyer.But her passions were her children and grands and great- grands. She was always ready to hold and rock a grandchild or great-grand.Park Street Baptist Church was her church home from the cradle roll until later in life.She was a member of the Ready Sunday School class for many, many years.She has now become a member ofthe First Baptist Church of Irmo, where she is a member of the Joy Sunday School Class. Cooking for her family was one of her joys.She always made sure everyone had what they needed before she sat down for a meal.There was always something, one dish that she was not quite satisfied with (which the family always loved).She was a real southern lady.Always ready to open her heart and home to anyone who needed help.She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother (MaMa) and great-grandmother. Surviving are her daughters, Cheryl M. Tolbert (Sammy) of Irmo and Sandy M. Martin (Steve) of Clinton, Mississippi; grandchildren, Bart Trimnal (Danielle), Wayne Trimnal and Ryan Martin; great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Hayden, Ethan and Evan Trimnal. Those who preceded her in death besides her parents, was her late husband, Curtiss B. Munn; brother, Harold J. Birch, Jr. A special thank you to Palmetto Health Hospice for there wonderful loving care.Especially Kim Campbell, Erin Willis, and Charlotte Berry, who loved her and gave her wonderful care.
