Pat Ruth Garner

Pat Ruth Garner, 83, of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at Colonial Gardens with her family by her side.She was born in Union, SC.Her parents were Dave and Bessie Garner. She was a graduate of Jonesville High School and was married in 1953 to the late J. Arthur Garner, Sr. Pat was a member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church for over 42 years and a member of Gideons International Ladies Auxiliary for over 50 years.She is known for her beautiful floral arrangements for many weddings. Pat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving are her children, Margie Garner Boyd (Dickie) of Jonesville, SC, Pam Garner Blakely (Mike) of Lexington, SC and Joel Garner (Pamela) of Todd, NC; grandchildren, Joi Igleheart Heston (Charlie), Hayden Igleheart (Shannon), Justin Igleheart, Courtney Blakely Denton (Alex), Cameron Blakely, Nick Garner and Josh Garner, along with 8 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 6, 2019, at Riverland Hills Baptist Church, 201 Lake Murray Blvd., Irmo, SC 29063.A private family service will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. Serving as Pallbearers will be her grandsons.The family will greet friends 12:30 p.m.-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
