Pamela Smoak Nesbitt

Funeral service for Pamela Smoak Nesbitt, 73, of Chapin, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2021, at Chapin United Methodist Church, 415 Lexington Ave., Chapin, SC 29036.Reverend Jody Flowers and Reverend Paul Allen will officiate.Burial will be in Christ-St. Paul Church Cemetery, 4981 Chapel Road, Yonges Island, SC 29449.The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Pamela was born in Charleston, SC, on September 9, 1948, to the late Walter Arthur Smoak and Agnes Gibson Smoak.She passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Prisma Health Richland. Pamela grew up on Yonges Island and was a graduate of Lander College. She worked in Charleston at the District School until she met the love of her life, John. They moved to Virginia for five years then settled in Chapin.Pamela was a member of Chapin UMC, a Stephen Minister, a Choir member, and a part of the Black Sheep Sunday School Class. Surviving are her loving husband of 48 years, John James Nesbitt; sons, Mike Nesbitt (Heather) and Jonathan Clarke (Kristie); sister Gay Walter; brother, Jerry Arthur Smoak (Josefa) and 5 wonderful grandchildren, Ridgell, Taylor, Hayden, Tyler, and Riley; and Tinsel their four-legged fur baby.
