COLUMBIA—Funeral services for Nancy Faye Porter Palmer, 64, of Columbia, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Temples Halloran Funeral Home Chapel, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.Reverend Mike Townsend will officiate.Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, 501 Elmwood Avenue, Columbia, SC 29201.The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Nancy Palmer, beloved wife of Stephen D. Palmer, Jr., passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016.Born in Columbia, she is the daughter of Olan Marion Porter and Dorothy Raines Porter.She was a 1969 graduate of the old Columbia High School. She traveled across America and worked in the rehabilitation and childcare industries for many years.Enjoyed teaching children and found fulfillment in loving her children and grandchildren.Nancy also enjoyed home and garden hobbies. Surviving in addition to her husband, Stephen D. Palmer, Jr.; and her parents, Olan and Dot Porter; children, Wendy Lanier (Derrick), David Paul Rosales (Kathryn) all of Columbia, Stephen Charles Palmer (Gina) of Maple Shade, NJ and David DeVeaux Palmer of Barstow, CA.; grandchildren, Kaitlin Lanier, Chandler Lanier, Eliyahna Rosales, Benjamin Rosales, Alexander Palmer and Deveon Palmer; brother, Alan Porter (Joan) of Irmo. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. Memorial may be made to the American Heart Association, 190 Knox Abbott Drive, Ste. 301, Cayce, SC 29033 or a charity of one’s choice.
