Nancy Ann Boatman

Nancy Ann Boatman (December 22, 1940 ~ September 13, 2024) (Maiden name Lindsay) departed this earth after a brief illness on September 13, 2024. An avid collector of dolls, Nancy was the first president of the Columbia Doll Club. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to those she leaves behind. Her son, Dr. Bradley Warren Boatman, her sister, Bettye Smith, mother, Burdell Lindsay, and her father, Phillip Steadman Lindsay preceded her in death. Nancy is survived by her husband of 66 years, Gilbert Wayne Boatman, her son, Barry Wayne Boatman (Paul Mattingly), daughter-in-law, Mary Wehbie, grandchildren Alex Boatman (Emilie), Nicholas Boatman, and Marina Boatman, and her nephew Chris Smith (Barbara). Nancy was an avid collector of dolls and loved shopping for them and collaborating with her many friends who were doll collectors. In particular, she will be remembered by her friends Noni Buis and family in California and Jim Blackmon and famliy in Columbia, South Carolina. Nancy loved shopping for dolls and antiques, and often provided these items for Christian organizations to sell at their thrift stores to further their mission. A private service for Nancy will be held at Temples-Halloran Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please provide a donation to the charity of your choice.
