Morris "Lee" Wells, Jr.

A service celebrating the life of Morris "Lee" Wells, Jr., 83, of Columbia will be held on Monday February 17, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, 5637 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC, 20212, with the Reverend Tim Burden officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Bush River Memorial Gardens, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. Services will also be livestreamed here .

Lee, affectionately known as "Dick" growing up, was born on December 8, 1941 in Sumter, SC and departed this earthly life on Sunday, February 9, 2025. He was the son of the late Morris Lee Wells, Sr. and Aileen Sutton Wells. Lee was a graduate of Edmunds High School and received an Associates Degree from Columbia Commercial College. He served his country in the United States Navy and worked for many years as a data processing manager and sales supervisor.

Lee’s greatest joys in life were his daughters, Teresa and Tiffany, and his two grandsons Colin and Brock. He was a devoted father and granddad, and made it a priority to spend quality time with them every week. He also enjoyed days at the beach, Clemson football, and relaxing on the weekend.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter Tiffany Wells Nettles (Rob), grandsons Colin Woods and Brock Nettles, sisters Margret Wells Clough, Elaine “Laney” Wells Scrufari, and Barbara Wells Benton (Gaylon), brother William Wells, and former spouse Renee Dennis Wells, along with many extended family members.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Wells Woods, and brothers Robert Wells, Ricky Wells, and Wayne Wells.
