Mary Lou Bohler

COLUMBIA—A Celebration of Life service for Mary Lou Bohler, 88, of Columbia, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 2, 2016 at St. Andrews Baptist Church, 230 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29210. Reverend Dr. Ronald “Dee” Vaughan will be officiating.The family will receive friends following the service in the Atrium. Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212 will be assisting the family. Mary Lou Newberry Bohler was born on July 11, 1928 in North Augusta, SC and died on September 26, 2016.She was the daughter of the late Fredrick Henry Newberry and Catherine Cowart Newberry. Mrs. Bohler had an Associates Degree in Radiology and worked at the Shriners Hospital while living in Greenville, SC.Her optical career spanned 40 years working at Bausch & Lomb and Robertson Optical.After retirement, she volunteered in many capacities including Lexington Extended Care and the food pantries sponsored by several Baptist churches.She was a longtime member of St. Andrews Baptist Church where she was President of the W.M.U. and served as a deacon. Surviving are her daughters, Eydie Younkin (John) of Greenville, SC, and “Cricket” Rawls (Don) of Lexington, SC; sons, Charles T. Bohler, III (Dale) of Lake Wylie, SC and Bruce Neil Bohler (Donna) of Charlotte, NC; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Charles T.
