Martha Elizabeth Brannon Rucker was born June 13th, 1932, in Irmo, South Carolina, to Manie and David Brannon, Sr. Martha transitioned to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 30th, 2023. Ms. Martha left South Carolina in 1950 and moved to New York where she met and married Charles Rucker from Arkansas. She was a seamstress, loved to dance, garden, and fish with her grandchildren. Ms. Martha was preceded in death by her parents; David and Manie Brannon and both maternal and paternal grandparents. Also preceded in death by brothers: Bill and (Simie) Brannon, Wayde and (Belle) Brannon, and Thomas and (Hattie Mae) Brannon; sister: Viola and (Junior) Davids; children: James and (Edith) Brannon, Deborah Brannon, Quinten Brannon, Charles Rucker Jr, Roxxane Brannon, Derick Brannon, and Jimmy Brannon. She is survived by sister: Mayola Seaborn; children: Christopher and (Louise) Brannon, Michelle and (John) Samuels, Michael and (Felicia) Brannon Rucker, and Marcus, Sr. and (Pamela) Rucker. Ms. Martha has 21 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-great-grandson. She also has a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Ms. Martha will be greatly missed. We earnestly thank the LORD as we remember her beautiful life. Ms. Martha's funeral services will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023, at 2:00 pm, in the Chapel of Temples-Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Rd, Columbia, SC, 29212, with Reverend Eartha Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the hour of the service. Family will hold Repass at 104 Allen St., Lexington, South Carolina, 29072 from 4-6 pm. The family of the late Martha E. Brannon Rucker would like to express their sincere appreciation for the many acts of kindness shown towards them during their time of bereavement.
