Marlee Steadman

November 1, 1957 — November 12, 2021

Marlee Steadman passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021, in Columbia, South Carolina. She was a southern lady of many talents and skills, but her love, kindness, and courage defined her. Marlee was born in Greenville, South Carolina on November 1st, 1957, a daughter of Robert Elroy Buck III, and Jean Leatherwood Buck. She graduated from Christ Church Episcopal High School in 1975. She moved to Columbia to attend Columbia College, where she graduated in 1979 with a degree in Sociology. Marlee cared deeply for all living things, including her pets. You will not find a more supportive wife, mother, and sister. She had the rare ability to be very successful in her career as a corporate Senior Vice President while always putting people above all else. In August of this year, her colleagues celebrated Marlee’s 40th year at Bank of America, where she started on August the 10th, 1981. Though she was the type of person who didn’t seek praise. However, appreciation by her staff and peers filled page after page of her tribute. Among her accolades was her passion for the business, her fierce protection of her peers and staff, and her extreme patience. To know Marlee was to love her. She was determined, genuine, loyal, pure-hearted and she will be greatly missed. She was predeceased by her before-mentioned parents. She was survived by her husband, Billy Steadman; son, Will Cornell, son, Chris Cornell and his wife Mary; brother, Robby Buck and his wife Betsy; and brother, Bryan Buck. At this time the family would ask that you enjoy the Christmas season with your family. Please contact her son, Will Cornell at MBSLife2021@gmail.com for any updates.
