CAYCE—Funeral services for Marilyn F. Warren, 79, of Cayce, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Cayce United Methodist Church, 1600 12th Street, Cayce, SC 29033.Reverend Joseph R. James, Jr. will be officiating.Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens, 700 W. Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170. Pallbearers will be Chris Jeffcoat, Mike Hutchins, Buck Rasmussen, Eddie Pereira, C.J. Seelbinder and Gary Seelbinder and Honorary pallbearers will be the Cayce Public Safety.The family will greet friends from 12:30 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. in Chambers Hall at the church. Temples Halloran Funeral Home is assisting the family. Mrs. Warren passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016, born in Long Island, NY; she was the daughter of the late William J. Hicks and Frances Pereira Hicks.She was a member of Cayce United Methodist Church since 1955 and a Charter member of the Cayce Eastern Star Chapter #260, were she served as a Past Worthy Matron, and was a 1955 graduate of Brookland-Cayce High School. She was one of the Founding members of the Police Wives Auxiliary and she was recognized by the American Police Hall of Fame. She retired from the City of West Columbia and Cayce after 36 years as a bookkeeper. Mrs. Warren was known by many of her friends and loved ones as Nana or Aunt Marilyn. Surviving are her daughter, Cindy W. Davis (Chuck) of Cayce; sister, Judy Yuengling of Cayce; grandson, Dewayne Davis and his fiancée, Victorie Hansen; sister-in-law, Cathy Hicks of Long Island, NY, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, D.M. “Bill” Warren of 50 years; brothers, Billy and Joey Hicks; brother-in-law, John Yuengling and her step-father, George Hartford.
