Marie Bailey Bollinger

Marie Bailey Bollinger, 84, of Irmo, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022. She was the widow of George Voight Bollinger. Mrs. Bollinger was born in Inman, SC, on August 18, 1938, to the late James Lewis Bailey and Margaret (Avo) Lee Bailey. Mrs. Bollinger was employed as a registered nurse for over 49 years in the nursery at Baptist Medical Center. She received her training at the Lily Hardin Nursing Program at Baptist Hospital. Mrs. Bollinger is survived by her daughter, Sherrie Bollinger; her son, Danny Bollinger; her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Bollinger; her sister, Carolyn Medlin; and her brother, Jimmy Bailey. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michael Bollinger, Kayla Bollinger, Amanda Corsi, Christopher Johnson, and Rebekah Johnson. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Bollinger was predeceased by her son, George Scott Bollinger; and sisters, Nancy, Judy, Sybil, and Marion. Services for Mrs. Bollinger will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation will follow the service at the church. The family would like to send a special thank you to all of her doctors, Heart Strings Hospice, and especially, Robin Sims.
